The first time someone launches with the Schoolhouse for Local Desktop on a particular computer, they will have to do an additional step by installing the launch-support-application.

Click Cancel on the popup, and then clicking the link circled below.

This will download an installer.

Run it and leave the default "Local User" setting.

Proceed through to the end and select Finish

Now Click the Back in the Schoolhouse to return to the main screen

Choose Open when the confirmation dialog appears

In order for the Schoolhouse web page to start a program on you local machine, it needs to run the launch-support-application.  It needs your permission to do so.

So, if you see this popup, choose Open.

Once you have started it, you should not have to start it again until you restart your computer.

When the Ready to Launch screen appears, click Launch

This will run the application on your local computer.  You may need to use Alt+Tab to view it.

To record your work in the LMS, make sure to Grade Lesson to exit

When the lesson is recorded in the LMS the application will automatically close.

If you want to quit early, use the Stop button in the Schoolhouse page.  This will not record the results to the LMS.

Upgrading

Occasionally, a new version of content will become available.  After choosing Local Desktop or Local VR, this status is shown.

Select Upgrade to automatically download and install the latest version.

You can press Cancel if you need to stop the download.

However, you will not be able to use the content in Desktop until you have the latest version.

When the installation is complete, you can continue with the launch.
